BioBased Insulation unveiled it's new 1701 soy-based product, a water-blown closed cell spray foam. BioBased Insulation's 1701 is an alternative for environmentally conscious consumers, builders, and architects. Before 1701, closed-cell spray foams were primarily petroleum-based and most relied on CFC (chlorofluorocarbons) or HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) blowing agents.
