BioBased Insulation unveiled it's new 1701
soy-based product, a water-blown closed cell
spray foam. BioBased Insulation's 1701 is an
alternative for environmentally conscious
consumers, builders, and architects. Before 1701,
closed-cell spray foams were primarily
petroleum-based and most relied on CFC
(chlorofluorocarbons) or HCFC
(hydrochlorofluorocarbons) blowing agents. These
agents are known for being highly volatile and
require specific guidelines that applicators must
adhere to during storage and transportation.
Because BioBased 1701 uses water as its blowing
agent and does not contain these harmful agents,
the installment process and finished product is
completely earth friendly. Consumers using
BioBased 1701 will also reap the environmental and
cost saving benefit of reduction in energy usage.
